Member Spotlight: Special Delivery!

Special Delivery Services, LTD is a personal shopping and errand service designed to help individuals and families find more free time in their busy lifestyles. Special Delivery takes care of your menial, yet necessary, and time-consuming tasks. To name a few, we shop and deliver groceries, household supplies, pet supplies, gifts, and baby needs. We will also drop-off and pick-up your dry cleaning. Our errand services are virtually limitless throughout the local area. Currently, our services are offered to residents of the south-east suburbs of Cleveland.

The founder, Micki Ferik, is a former Quality Assurance and Operations Manager. Micki spent 6 years in Quality Assurance Management and an additional 4 years in Operations Management. On a part-time basis, she studied both Quality and Mechanical Engineering Technologies at Lakeland Community College. In 1998, she acquired a certificate in Quality Control Technology. Subsequently, in 2002, she received an Associate of Applied Science degree for Mechanical Engineering Technology studies.

Long work days, working evenings and weekends, and a part-time college career left Micki little time to shop and run errands. Free time was almost nonexistent. As a result, Micki left her organization after nearly 15 years of employment to start a business to help others in the same situation. In other words, Special Delivery Services, LTD was started in effort to help other business professionals manage time. Who wouldn’t want to spend more time on family, friends, or recreation?

Special Delivery Services, LTD not only helps business professionals, we are here for busy moms, single-parent families, dual income families, older citizens, and handicapped individuals. We also offer errand and courier services to corporations and firms. Why spend your valuable time waiting in lines and driving around town? Let us do it for you!

Here is some inspiration….

Could you use a little boost when things get tough? WOW! Member Diane Scartz forwarded Scott Straten’s link to me, adding:

“Be sure the sound is up on your computer. And if you like, add your name to his email list at the end of the movie. He comes up with a new one about every month and I find I receive them just when I need them most!”

Try it by linking to:

http://www.YourPathMovie.com

The message you will receive once you have added yourself to the list is “Discover two coaching articles that highlight valuable tips, perspectives and resources to help you create a more fulfilling life, both personally and professionally. These articles are stimulating people to do better business, build stronger relationships, improve their communities, and lead happier lives. I hope you enjoy them!”

Sounds like something we strive to do here at our member meetings! I have added my name to the email list!

Need more reasons to join? A message to students…

Why ABWA?

Searching for your first real job can be scary. You’re going to need more than the college degree you’re working so hard to obtain. To position yourself miles ahead of the competition and on the road to making your career dreams come true, you’ll need:

  • professional development, networking and credential-building.

  • an association dedicated to your success.

  • a student membership in the American Business Women’s Association.

Benefits of ABWA Student Membership

By becoming an ABWA Student Member, you instantly gain access to the knowledge, contacts and buying power you’ll need for success in the job market. For just $30.00, more than a 50% discount off the traditional rate for National membership, your ABWA Student Membership will provide:

  • a subscription to our award-winning magazine, Women in Business®.

  • a personalized ABWA membership card: a building block for a resume that gets attention.

  • discounts on products and services.

  • access to ABWA’s merchandise guide, which features a wide variety of career accessories.

  • invitations to local, regional and national conferences, the ideal environments for you to start making great business contacts.

At ABWA, we can help turn your career goals into reality. We’ve been doing just that for thousands of American businesswomen every year since 1949 - women from nearly every industry you can imagine. Why not align yourself with 40,000 of the most savvy women in the country?

ABWA - the Professional Association You’ll Never Outgrow

As an ABWA Student Member, you are a national member of the Association. This means that you receive all the benefits of belonging to the Association. Keep in mind that when your college career ends and you start working, you will want to continue your education by joining an ABWA chapter. Chapters provide opportunities for learning and testing your abilities in a supportive and inspiring environment.

How to Become a Member

Student memberships are $30 for National + $30 for Women of Wisdom Charter Chapter. Call Tracy Drogalus at 440-684-1646, or email at tracydrogalus@sbcglobal.net, or COME TO A MEETING! You are always welcome!

A Look Back

If I may, I’d like to reminisce a bit and highlight a very important meeting that we held on May 9th. It was the very first meeting for the Women of Wisdom.

A couple members shared their thoughts of the importance of ABWA, and how it has benefited their lives. I then introduced our topic, EQ (Emotional Intelligence), to the audience.

Our speaker Lauren Burnett, an expert on Emotional Intelligence, spoke on how we have the ability to sense other’s energy.  This sensing is powerful and can detect when we are being drained by others’ negative energy.

So let me ask you the question … Do you have good EQ?

Everyone listened intently on the edge of their seats as Lauren explained how our EQ energy can be found within our hearts and minds.

I wanted to make sure we recognized Lauren and her wonderful presentation. It was an important day, and being our first speaker, she started the Women of Wisdom with such a positive experience!

If you want a positive charge, give her a call! Information about her can be found:
