June’s Meeting

Dr. Cheryl Felder Scott

Dr. Scott is an independent consultant and facilitator for corporate, government and non profit clients, and has served as an adjunct professor in various Master’s and undergraduate level courses. She began her career in fashion retailing after attending the Tobe-Coburn School for Fashion Careers in New York City. Later on, she went on to earn a B.B.A. degree in management from Kent State University in 1978.

In 1997, she was awarded a PH.D in Organizational Behavior from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management. While attending CWRU, she became a recognized leader among administrative and support staff. During her career tenure at CWRU, she was inaugurated as the first elected chairperson for CWRU Staff Advisory council.

Immediate after receiving her degree, Dr. Scott led a major change initiative within Cleveland State University’s Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs. Dr. Scott has also been instrumental in establishing a county wide student council consortium for the League of Women Voters of Cleveland Education Fund. In recent years, she has help to form the Cuyahoga County Alliance of Small Business Childcare Owners and Directors, and subsequently has become a founding member of its board of directors.

Dr. Scott’s research career draws upon her experience working with women in administrative and support capacities. She is drafting a book based on her dissertation; “An Appreciative Exploration of the Career and Parenting Experiences of Dual-Career Mothers and Fathers.” She also facilitates two workshops: “Bloom from Where You Are Planted,” an interactive experience to help you grow spiritual and emotionally, and “Where Love is Planted, Dreams can Bloom” an intergenerational experience for parents and grandparents.

An Inspiring Web Site for Women

Are you looking for a job or just inspiration? I found this amazing Web Site of a company called “WomenForHire”. This site is dedicated to the promotion of women, mainly-providing great jobs to women via Job Expos. The organization has many top-notch clients that offer jobs at these expos, which provide the opportunity for women to pick the company that they want to work for.

Here is the bio on the CEO, Tory Johnson. I hope this inspires you like it did me…

Congratulations New Board!

President: Tracy DrogalusIt is such an honor and privilege to serve as your president for the second year of our chapter’s existence. We have had a very successful year and throughout this growing process, we have reached several important milestones such as:

  • Acquiring our chapter’s members
  • Installing in a timely manner
  • Creating committees
  • Establishing our marketing materials such as flyers, newsletters and Web site
  • And featuring powerful speakers that lifted and motivated our audience
As I look to this next term, I am very excited to embark on future projects that will develop growth and success for our organization. Although this sentiment is shared by all, we cannot rest on status quo- we need to continue to work hard towards these efforts. Your new board and supporting committees will do their best to gain more membership, be in touch with members, proliferate our marketing material, and continue to create productive and informative powerful speaking & networking engagements. All this is offered to you in an effort to help YOUR growth and success!

I am so proud of the new and incumbent executive board members who were voted into office last night. These members are:

Vice President: Nicole Kramarz
Secretary: Julie Curtis
Treasurer: J. Lombardi

This upcoming year is something to be really excited about and I am looking forward to serving you. Let us all join together to make this chapter larger than life!

Sincerely,
Tracy Drogalus
