Listen to and absorb what worked or failed for them and adopt their most successful tactics and avoid their mistakes”. (pg. 74).

HERE IS YOUR CHANCE! In the EXECUTIVE WOMEN speaker series, meet three executive women and find out about their path.

March 2008 Meeting

The March meeting was a hit as many people gathered at the Beachwood Chamber of Commerce to listen to Jeff Previte speak about finances. Jeff started off asking the room financial questions and if they enjoy doing their own finances. He encouraged those who do not, to find and keep a close relationship with a financial advisor. (As luck would have it, one was right in the room, member Julie Curits!)

For those who want to learn more, Jeff strongly suggested we subscribe to Money Magazine, and the plenty of resources on the Web, his favorite being Yahoo Finance. By continuously reading and studying these resources, you can acclimate yourself to achieve a better vocabulary to talk to financial advisors and have a better understanding of finances in general.

As Julie Curtis recommended in our previous month’s meeting, Jeff echoed and reinforced that budgeting is very important. Budgeting allows you to get a handle on where your money is going and appropriately plan where your money would best be used wisely. Having us all draw a diagram with three triangles, Jeff demonstrated the various ways our spending income is taxed. This gave an informative reflection of where and how your money is utilized.

A good time was had by all, as staff fromUrsuline College, Meegan Cox & Geraldine Sullivan, opened the meeting explaining the differentiating aspects of each college. University of Phoenix catering to the new student, ordering books and classes, while Ursuline providing teaching students in their small classes, and guiding and alumni into their future.

Thank you to http://www.beachwood.org/ BEACHWOOD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE for allowing us to have our meeting at their location. Everyone was warm and welcoming and Devorah Silverman was a terrific hostess!
